Information For Sponsors

Firstly, thank you for considering supporting TBH!

With your help, we can continue to visit local schools, working with children, to:

  • Reduce their anxiety around doctor’s visits

  • Encourage healthy lifestyles

  • Educate about medical emergencies

Every Wednesday we visit a different primary school and teach children about simple topics in Medicine.

How is it run?

We do this by running a number of different stations in a carousel format (i.e. each group starts at a different station and works their way around the room until they’ve completed them all) on topics from Healthy Eating to an Ambulance Simulation.

At the same time, we provide the medical students that volunteer with us with an opportunity to help the community, practice skills in paediatrics by interacting with children and even improve their teaching skills.

Our society has been running since 2014 â€¯and so far, we have recruited close to 400 volunteers, taught over 2760 kids in over 120 sessions held in 60 different schools.

Imperial College London maintains a yearly intake of over 2000+ students, allowing for students for form close bonds especially those studying for 6+ years. Despite this, the society insists on gathering students from all courses to integrate them into our family-like community.

Weekly School trips

TeddyBear Hospital visits primary schools in the Hammersmith and Fulham area, where with the help of our volunteers we teach children in fun and interactive ways.

The role of the volunteers is made even more accessible with the availability of instructional sheets and a training day at the start of the academic year. We have a teddy bear mascot, Percy, who is adored by the children. We also ask children to bring their own soft toys and get them involved in the teaching (as their ‘patient’)!

A few examples of our stations include teaching about healthy eating, what to do in an emergency, and basic human anatomy. Teachers and children always remember the day and often try to book us again for the following year.

Ways to sponsor us

As a volunteering society, we are extremely grateful to our sponsors for helping us out in any way they can.  We use our sponsorship money to help improve the TBH experience for children and volunteers alike by:

  • Providing new equipment for volunteers

  • Developing new stations

  • Buying equipment for additional stations

  • Transport to school visits

  • Volunteer T-shirts

For those who are able to financially support us you can find out more about our packages here.

There are also other ways you can sponsor us, such as by providing new equipment for our stations. This could be teddy bears, soft toys, medical equipment, etc. Email us for any sponsorship queries!

If you sponsor us (no matter how small the contribution) you will always be on our website!
